We will take you on a beautiful hike to the Joffre Lakes. We are talking about Joffre Lakes in the plural because in this provincial park there are indeed 3 lakes, on 3 different levels. Traveling around Vancouver and British Columbia has the advantage of having a nice variety of landscapes concentrated in a small area. You will have on one side the ocean and on the other side the mountains and the great spaces. It is in this green setting that we take you on a beautiful hike in the lower mountains. Fed by the water of the glacial melts and with the reflection of the light on its waters, the lakes of the Joffre Provincial Park have the particularity to have a beautiful water with turquoise colors. For the more courageous or rather the less cold, it will be possible for you to swim in the second lake. Strangely, the third and last lake attracts much less people. This one is much colder. The hike from Joffre Lake is 5 to 6 km long with a difference in altitude of 370 meters The asset of this park is to have 3 lakes, each one on different levels, the first one after 5 to 7 minutes of walking from the beginning of the trail. It is ideal to adapt your hike according to your physical condition at the moment. This first lake is accessible to everyone. Already sublime, it will only arouse your curiosity and your desire to go further. Especially since the space to admire it is a bit limited. 2 benches are at your disposal to be able to rest a little and admire quietly the landscape offered by this first lake. Except for the median around the benches, there is not much more space, so there is quickly a traffic jam to admire the view. So, after this beautiful invitation, we headed for the second lake a little higher. It will take you about 2 hours to reach it and you will feel the difference in level on some sections. The freshness of the forest is however highly appreciable! The most courageous, or the most relentless, will push to the upper lake. Be brave! If the difference in altitude can frighten you a little, don't worry, the climb only lasts about half an hour and is enhanced by a waterfall and small flat paths towards the end. Don't forget your sunscreen, water and your picnic! And a bathing suit for the bravest. It will be hard to resist the call of the turquoise waters of the lakes. Go early to be at the third and last lake at the stroke of noon.
